International Visiting Scientists appointed to Promise Project
Professor Nor Aida Zubir from the University Teknologi Mara in Malaysia, and Professor Luciane Ferreira Trierweiler from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, have been appointed as Visiting International Scientists in the Promise Project. Professor Aida has a background in the development of functional nano materials for catalytic and photocatalytic applications, which is highly relevant to several aspects of the Promise project. Professor Trierweiler has extensive background in the development of sensors for a wide range of applications including in the food industry, and has past and existing collaborations with German researchers. Both visiting scientists are leading women researchers in their countries, and will contribute to the discussions and activities around gender equality and diversity, in addition to their scientific contributions to the project.
In February 2022, Professors Aida and Trierweiler will undertake a two-week study visit to Germany, visiting KIT and Uni Freiburg to meet Promise project partners, give research seminars, participate in research activities and contribute to a symposium. The video below shows Bradley Ladewig and Laura Trinkies (Promise Steering Committee members) interviewing Professors Aida and Trierweiler.
